Recently my family opened an Italian Market and Deli and suddenly my little has become OBSESSED with everything Italian. I am super proud of him for getting excited about part of his heritage, but finding things to keep his 9 year old brain satisfied can sometimes be few and far between.
So...imagine my excitement when I logged on to my Influenster account and saw a badge for the new Dino Lingo program. Dino Lingo is a cartoon based program to teach kids a new foreign language. Influenster gave us a sneak peak and a free lesson, so I thought we would check it out. After watching the snippet on YouTube I wasn't sure if it would hold the little's interest as I thought it looked somewhat "babyish" for a 9 year old. But, since we had a free lesson, I decided to give it a whirl anyway.
The little loved it. He watched the free lesson, and then had me go look up more videos on YouTube. He was so proud of the new words he learned and has been running around all day getting everyone he knows to talk to him. I'm not sure if I will subscribe to more lessons, but it was definitely worth the free trial. I think we will keep re-watching the ones we have now, and if he still is showing interest in a week or so, I might consider making the investment. Heck, I even enjoyed watching it. I don't see why an adult couldn't get some use out of the videos as well. According the the Dino Lingo website, they have books, flashcards, DVD's, CD's etc, so it's more than just the videos.
